Veggie Delites...

Now, this was something that was going in my mind, to convert my sweet blog in to a full time cooking blog.


Now-a-days, that we have both started putting on weight, I decided to stay away from sweets for sometime (awww... heartache... I love sweets!).

So cooking regular meals everyday and getting some appreciation too! :) Being in the US and being a vegetarian, I only get to eat things that I like at home, coz they are not as easily available outside as in India. This is how I started loving the art of cooking.. :)

So, here's my dedication to my new found love of cooking.

Chocolate Chip Cookies


I took a long break today and started baking after a long time, I mean REAL long time. And so I was baking for 3 hrs and did nothing else. I made these really yummy chocolate chip cookies I found while surfing some magazine. And I've already tried feeding them to some guests we had yesterday. Hoping the world likes it.

What I used:
 
All purpose flour or maida - 2 cups
Softened butter - 1-1/4 cups
Sugar - 2 cups
Eggs - 2
Vanilla Extract - 2 teaspoons
Baking cocoa - 3/4 cup
Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
Salt - just a pinch
Chocolate Chips - 1 cup

Preparation:
  1. Mix butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract now.
  2. Mix flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt and add it to the egg-butter-sugar mixture.
  3. Stir in the chocolate chips.      
  4. Drop teaspoonfuls on ungreased baking sheets and bake at 350ºF for 8-9 minutes.
  5. Let cool for one minute before removing from the sheets.
